Piper Spit at Burnaby Lake - October 1 2012

On my last trip to Burnaby Lake I saw and photographed some great birds, so I returned to Piper Spit at Burnaby Lake again on the 1st of October.

The same birds were present as my last visit. Some very well camouflaged Killdeer were calling in the lily pads, and Dowitchers and ducks were swimming in the water. I saw some cormorants and grebes farther out on the lake. I had a great time taking photos of the ducks, mainly Mallards and Wood Ducks, as the flew in to the spit.
