In the last two weeks of December, I did a trip to the Big Island in the Hawaiian Islands. It wasn't a birding trip, but I managed to fit in a whole lot of birding time. Hawaii is home to lots of bird species, but my favorites were the native forest birds which are not found anywhere else in the whole world.

On that page there is a link to five parts of a trip report. The trip report narrows down the birds I saw into categories.

On the trip I saw 56 bird species, 26 of which were lifers. It was a great trip!
